Blast with the past
Having started the slippery slide down the slope from the pinnacle of 40 I started to ask myself if all this changing technology is good for us. Recently in my life I have seen the switch from CRT TV to Plasma/LCD and from film camera to digital. With regards the TV question I quite liked my parents old CRT but now they have “updated” I like this one. Also the same applies to my switch to a digital SLR camera. I wonder if some people’s anti-technology stance is an aged linked thing. I have computer which is a few years old now but which does what I want it to but I occasionally get my brothers telling me to update. They both like the latest gadgets and gizmos, which is lost on me sometimes. Part of me wants to embrace new technology but part of me wants to have one foot in the past. Its not that I am afraid of advancement but there is this special something you can’t put your finger on about handling/using old “stuff”. With technology changing constantly, items that were “cutting edge” only a few months ago are now considered obsolete. With change comes the need to alter your preconceptions.

Spx has arrived
A2000 systems have just launched there brand new Spx cable management system for the user that prefers to mount there screen on the wall instead of a stand. This totally redesigned unit is far superior to the old style unit, much quicker and easier to assemble and very user friendly when it comes to adding and removing pieces of equipment from you set up as the fascia panel takes less then one second to remove and re-place giving you total flexibility to change. We have also made the unit cleaner looking showing no fixing screws as the old style was made from a two piece unit apposed to a one piece unit. One of the main feature we kept for old style is the way the glass shelves slotted into place which give you maximum distance between shelve for the different sized components that’s on the market, we also increased this by two centre meters. One of the main features to consider is if you where to purchase one of these units and fancy a change without to munch of a headache, you can purchase a new set of fascia panels of a different colour which transform the unit
.
Spx has now arrived.

Times are changing shape for television
Times are changing shape of what the television looks like and what its capable of producing, not to many years ago we viewing programs and film in black and white with only a few channels to choose from and that would all be concluded by eleven twelve o’clock then you would finish off with a frozen picture with a girl with different shapes around her because the broadcasting crew have called it a night. However this is no longer the case any more as we have twenty four hours of viewing the hundreds of programs and films to choose from, and now with high definition in place picture quality is excellent from the new television compared to the old Ctv which where monster of a size and three times heavier too. To give you some idea what the thinnest screen on the market dimensions are, its unberleavbly under 3cm which give you an extra solution if you prefer to mount it to the wall with out it protruding from the wall. A2000 systems have a number of cable management systems to compliment wall mounted television screens.
Passion for Photography
One of my many interests and passions is photography. So in the past few years have seen the growth of digital. I have also seen the debate film V digital. I always had my film developed at a well-known high street developer but when their quality started to decline I switched to a well-known supermarket and was really surprised. Now even this is happening and I wonder if it’s a ploy to stop processing film altogether. Being primarily a film user I decided a few months ago to invest in a digital SLR (EOS 10D) and am totally hooked on it. Its quicker (in terms of seeing the end result) and more adaptable, allowing people to fine tune that snapshot into a masterpiece. I also feel digital has allowed more people who wouldn’t have picked up a camera to take pictures. Like everything in life both formats have advantages and disadvantages but overall digital is just that much better. I still intend to keep at least one film camera for when I am felling nostalgic and deep down I really do hope that film doesn’t die but sadly over time this probably will be the case.
